Founded in 1885, Thomas Miller is one of the longest standing and widely respected insurance establishments in the City of London. A global provider of market leading insurance services across the international transport and professional indemnity sectors.

The insight

Thomas Miller’s target audience is as diverse as the professional services businesses within the group. Each brand operates autonomously and are at a different stage in developing their individual positioning and communications strategy.

One of the biggest challenges Thomas Miller faced was how to effectively consolidate their communications strategy across the broad range of professional services businesses within the group.

Developing a clear visual brand language for individual businesses like UK Defence Club, ITIC, BLP Insurance, TT Club, UKP&I and Hellenic and UK War Risks required an intelligent and nuanced approach. Having worked with Thomas Miller for over 25 years we developed close relationships across the group and are trusted partners, offering insights and consultancy in a wide range of activation strategies that strengthened their collective position as a leading voice in the global insurance marketplace.

The result

By bringing the group’s heritage and individual principles back to the fore, we enabled the brand to redefine its position in a hyper competitive space. The new brand was successfully launched in 2014 and since then we have focussed on the consistent and thorough application of all communication, producing strongly designed and unified work that raises the profile and awareness of the Thomas Miller Group.
